Director of Faith Formation

Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Position Summary
The Director of Faith Formation is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and knowledge
for the youth programs at Dilworth Lutheran Church. This position guides the development and
implementation of initiatives, activities, and events that are designed to grow faith in Christ in
young people.
Essential Functions
- Committed to life and growth of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Develops, implements and leads imaginative youth and family ministry. This will include mission
trips, youth gatherings and regular service activities. - Grows leadership and faith in adult leaders, mentors and Sunday/Wednesday School teachers.
- Models faith in daily living, while walking with others on their faith journey.
- Communicates with leadership and attends youth and education committee meetings to help the
committee grow its ministry and to multiply our impact with homes. - Leads devotions and a regular worship leader at the 10:30am and 6:45pm worship services.
- Works parallel to and with our pastors.
- Creates and develops opportunities for children, youth & families which promote spiritual growth and
fellowship including regularly scheduled mission and service events, retreats, camps and other
youth gatherings/activities. - Mentors youth to be leaders in the church.
- Works in collaboration with the Youth and Education Committees on the vision for youth ministry at
Dilworth Lutheran Church, including overseeing curriculum and learning resources. - Develops and oversees Vacation Bible School.

Qualifications
- Active member of Christian faith community
- Experience in Christian education, teaching and coordination
- Ability to work with pastors, staff, committees and volunteers
- Experience in recruiting, training, supporting and recognizing volunteers
- Degree in working with youth or 3 years equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in technology, Microsoft software, social media and other forms of electronic
communication - Ability to work nights and weekends
- Bible camp or mission trip experience preferred
- Musical aptitude for singing, leading and performance preferred
